Become a ‘Wish Maker’

Sport and community in the UAE
Shelter Dubai hosts a panel discussion on the role and importance of sport and fitness for good business, health and community.

Play Cashflow 101

Unleash your creativity with kunalini yoga
The kundalini yoga community group meet to practice the style during a group workshop, which will focus on how to ‘unleash your creative potential’. Those joining in are requested to wear a combination of red, orange and yellow colours. Join the group to find out where the session will be held.

Social Circles get-together for riders, yogis and nature lovers
Take part in this Social Circles outing, which will including trotting, galloping or just walking on a horse for 90 minutes (depending on your horse-riding ability), and stretching and relaxing through a hatha yoga session. To unwind at the end, there will be the opportunity to enjoy an evening picnic with fellow members. Join the social group via the website to take part.

Take your recyclables to Emirates Environmental Group’s family day
Every Saturday, EEG encourages families to visit its headquarters on Jumeirah Beach Road to drop off any recyclable household waste, including plastic, tetra packs (that’s juice boxes, to the uninitiated) aluminium cans, paper and glass.

Donate unwanted trainers to Soles for Souls
If you have old sneakers kicking around the house, Soles for Soles is taking donations of trainers to give to the UAE’s labourers. Just make sure they’re clean.

African djembe and Arabic tabla classes
Drop in to these community drumming classes and learn the African djembe drum. Alternatively, participants can also learn to play the tabla.
