Dubai’s Big Pink Ball This charity bash is set to be a huge party, with a three-course dinner, fashion shows, live entertainment and a unique charity auction to boost the coffers at Breast Cancer Arabia. What’s more, this year’s event will have a Moulin Rouge theme, with a black tie (with a touch of pink, naturally) dress code for guests – and a prize for the best dressed. From Dhs845 per person. Thursday October 24. Sky Bubble, Meydan Racecourse, Nad Al Sheba, www.bigpinkball.com (050 123 6547). Dubai’s hotels go pink A handful of the city’s hotels will be turning pink to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In Oud Metha, watch the Grand Hyatt glow fuschia, along with the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Jumeirah, Festival City’s InterContinental and Crowne Plaza. Near Downtown? Then keep an eye out for Al Murooj Rotana’s magenta hues. On Sheikh Zayed Road, the Fairmont Dubai will light up its exterior, while the newer Fairmont The Palm on Palm Jumeirah will turn its swimming pool lamps rosy. Finally, Dubai’s iconic Burj Al Arab will not only be lighting up its sail, but also adorning it with a pink ribbon. Keep an eye out for more as the month wears on, as the city’s five-star properties do their bit.
