Great start. I haven’t watched either film but I have heard and read horrible things about The Golden Compass. I’ve read the entire His Dark Materials trilogy, of which The Golden Compass/Northern Lights is the first, and I find the books to be fascinating and display a profound insight into a lot of topics.
I will still watch its film adaptation, but I will be bracing myself for the worst.
