3/5 (15+) US. Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, John Slattery Based on Philip K Dick’s Adjustment Team, this film proposes that there exists a clandestine, male-only sect whose job is to align the life trajectories of certain humans in order to prevent global catastrophe. Here the aim is to prevent ‘bad boy’ politician David Norris (Damon) from shacking up with Blunt’s Elise, who happens to be interpretive dance’s answer to Holly Golightly.
The Adjustment Bureau
leaves numerous plot holes in its wake (the largest being the vague reasons why the agents reveal themselves to Damon’s character), but the sweet chemistry between Damon and Blunt at least make their romantic, potentially existence-threatening bond credible.
