Horror movie teaser features Burj Khalifa, JBR and the Dubai Metro
If you’ve not seen IT yet, and even if you have, you need to check out this movie teaser created right here in Dubai.
The movie incarnation of Stephen King’s classic horror bestseller IT has not only been smashing records across America after its opening weekend, it has also been an international sensation.
Pennywise, the child-haunting clown, hit the big screen in Dubai on September 7, before racking up record opening weekend ticket sales in America totalling US$123.1 million (Dhs452 million). It’s officially the largest-ever opening weekend for a horror film internationally too – grossing US$66.3 million (Dhs243.5 million) across its 46 international markets – of which the UAE was one.
The film’s early success mirrors the success of the official trailer, which racked up the most views of any movie trailer in the first 24 hours of its release in March earlier this year – nearly 200 million global views.
“Anticipation for IT has been at a fever pitch since the record-breaking debut of its teaser trailer, and the film has exceeded all expectations,” said Sue Kroll, president worldwide marketing and distribution at Warner Bros. Pictures.
And now, there’s a teaser for IT that’s been shot right here in the UAE, following the famous red balloon around Dubai. See landmarks including Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Metro and JBR in this brilliant clip.
