Blonde Ambition
Jessica Simpson 'comedy'. Well, it is the summer Discuss this article
Somebody worked out that, because Blonde Ambition was only released in eight multiplexes in Texas (the home state of stars Jessica Simpson and Luke Wilson), and because the film averaged US$48 per screen, a total of 48 people went to see the film before its DVD release a month later. We don’t know if that’s true, but it’s believable. The filmmakers could barely stretch this limping romcom past the 90-minute mark, which sees Simpson star as a small town beauty who makes it big in New York’s business world, borrowing heavily from ’80s classic Working Girl. What on earth Wilson’s doing in this we’re not sure, but on the bright side the film was a massive hit in Ukraine, where it went straight into the film charts at number one. Not a complete waste of time then, eh?
