The most expensive production in Swedish cinema, this medieval epic sees hero Arn Magnusson (Joakim Nätterqvist, the son of a high-ranking Swedish nobleman, banished for forbidden love and sent to fight the Saracens in the Holy Land.

Be warned: this is the first installment in an adaptation of Jan Guillou’s literary trilogy, so you’ll have to watch more of these films for the story to reach a satisfactory conclusion.
