A friend and I were quite excited about trying out Pizza Pazza. We suffered dangerous traffic, a sandstorm and a bad sense of direction. But we made it. When we finally did get there, they were shut! And this was 8pm. Very disappointed.

I agree with Partha. Your reviewer certainly has very odd tastes. The dishes recommended in several of the outlets are definitely not their tastiest dishes.

And Danial does do a great Buffet for a fantastic price - I love the seafood though the dessert section is not worth writing about!

There are other good restaurants too that have great food at excellent prices. Why are these not mentioned? Reviewer could not find them? ...

@partha, i understand that most people working in dubai earn very modest salaries and eating out for dhs100 for 2 people is a treat but the target audience of this publication is middle to higher income earners and as it is a more "western style" publication, "budget" is decided on comparative prices in developed countries...in this case $28 for two is ridiculously cheap even if it's not the cheapest food you can find. my husband and i have often both eaten for AED28 so i do know what you mean.

May I ask TimeOut Dubai, "How can you call a meal costing AED 100 a BUDGET MEAL?"

What kind of clientele do you have in mind when you want to pass off a meal for less than Dh. 100 as 'affordable'? Do you write these tips with only the manager-level people in mind?

For us, ordinary souls in Dubai, even a budget of Dh. 50 per head for a meal is like stretching it a bit. Could you, the next time, refine your search and come up with suggestions, which could REALLY fit our budgets?

Your team sure needs to do some serious research, too. There are numerous other really afforable restaurants & restaurant deals that were left out by them. e.g. how come TimeOut Dubai never mentions the most popular Iranian buffet spreads at restaurants like Danial? It costs only Dh. 60.00 and it's a huge, all-you-can-eat spread.

Partha

P.S.: Chana masala is not all that is served at Indian restaurants. The next time your reviewers visit an Indian restaurant, ask them to ask for recommendations.
