Chart-topping singer performed at the Meydan's Irish celebration

In a departure from the rowdy revelry of St Patrick’s Day elsewhere in Dubai, Sharon Corr ditched her sisters and nerdy brother for an intimate set at Meydan. The Gaelic beauty wowed her 1,000-strong audience with her enchanting vocals, as well as her proficiency on the fiddle (violin, to non-Irish speakers). She was introduced onstage by Declan O’Sullivan (aka The Paddy Man), and treated the crowd – most of whom were clad in green and/or wearing silly hats – to solo material from her new album Dream of You, including ‘So Long Ago’ and ‘It’s Not a Dream’, as well as her cover of The Korgis’ ‘Everybody’s Gotta Learn Sometime’. She also played Corrs classics ‘Radio’ and ‘So Young’.
