African drums, music and folk song were enough to lure revellers out into the balmy evening to celebrate the last full-moon party of the season. The event took an African theme, with music by DJ Dino Moran – one of the few disc jockeys who can claim to have played at Nelson Mandela’s birthday and Christmas party. His contemporary African beats were accompanied by the mesmerising vocals of Mapumba, while visual entertainment was provided by fire dancers (as if the evening wasn’t hot enough already). The crowd wasn’t the size usually seen at Nasimi, but considering the temperatures, attendance was impressive, and everyone looked as though they’d had a great night.
