If you’re looking for larks, merriment and a chance to let loose on a Thursday, there are few better places to do so than the Taboo night at Trilogy. Last Thursday was a particular gem thanks to an appearance from jack-of-all-trades Yousef (DJ, producer and promoter). The Brit’s diverse sound – ranging from a tech house to a haunting, eerie electronica – made for a unique, intelligent and refreshing set. Not only was the music man confident and entertaining on the decks, he somehow managed to pull off a trendy combover and a big smile on his face (not the usual disc jockey pout). The older, more sophisticated (well, mostly) crowd lapped up the scintillating set – the dancefloor crowded with plenty of pretty people all night. If June 16 was anything to go by, we’re looking forward to more Taboo Thursdays in the future.
