Local progressive rock band Absolace played their last set before summer at indie venue The Music Room last weekend. The lads came on at 11.45pm (just after setting off the fire alarm with a pre-gig smoke – so rock star), and played an impressive hour-long set. The energy was high octane all night, but the highlights were definitely the first song, ‘Apogee’, and the last, ‘Resolved’, which connected best with the crowd (perhaps due to familiarity – they’re the band’s older songs). That said, the new tracks – which are being recorded as you read this – were very promising indeed. We look forward to seeing the boys back on stage come September.
