Top 10 Indian restaurants
15 Comments 19 April 2012Antique Bazaar: Bazaar’s decor is memorable – think ornate chairs, plush sofas, beautiful Indian motifs and autographed photos of yesteryear’s Bollywood entertainers – and the North Indian fare delights, but when you experience the noise levels emanating from the restaurant’s musical act, forget polite dinner conversation. The troupe plays instruments, sings and dances to popular Hindi classics and, while the antics on stage are distracting, it’s still a welcome change from those lonely restaurants where diners spend all night thumbing their mobile phone. Like the best bazaars in India, it’s a bit of a sensory overload – but this should be embraced wholeheartedly.

If people are asking for the best Indian restaurant in and outside of India and here in the UAE then it's Haveli's in Abu Dhabi. I promise you it's worth the trip to Abu Dhabi if you're based in Dubai. Order Murgh Malai Kabab, Murgh Handi and Gosht Shahi Korma. It's the perfect order and you will be addicted.

I must admit I've been disappointed with the Dubai Indian restaurants - I cook better Indian at home. I wanted a hot, sour vindaloo and all I got was a bland tomato curry with hardly any meat and this was at a leading restaurant. Ask for a Korma and you get a bland spiceless mild curry instead of a rich, spicey almond/coconut creamy experience. Indian food is supposed to be hot but they tame it all down, why I don't know, I expect hot in an Indian restaurant, sweat on the brow stuff. The Thais have no problem with presenting hot food.
I think I'll stay at home and cook it myself. -

I have read above for all about the restaurants and i have been there mostly all of them , except Asha, but i think Asha will also be the same as others. I will say in UAE there is no such restaurant which can give you real taste of North India(Specially Delhi,Punjab and Western UP ) which is famous for its best Mughal foods and others Classic food. Veg and NON Veg , including snacks, breakfast, lunch and dinners.
Somehow you can get Beef Nihari, and Beef Paya have acceptable taste in Daily restaurant in Quasis, and Delhi Darbar in deira.now i dont want to think to go to any other restaurant and waste my money to have something else and expect something else .
I prefer to ask my MOM and Grand MOM In India and cook ourself at home . If anybody wants a recipe i can provide.

My doubt has gone! its the BEST Indian restaurant that I could say I am very well satisfied! The preparation of the food. The serving. Taste? its perfectly worth the price!! i tried asha's and the food quality was really bad. there was hardly any meat on the chicken as it was full of fat. the fish curry tasted well but something was definitely wrong with the food as i had to throw up to relieve the sickness and both me and my friend felt really sick after the food. we even mentioned about the bad quality of food(dont get me wrong, the taste was not bad of one of the dishes we ordered) but throwing up after a meal in an expensive restaurant calls for the municipality to have a check on them.

I dont know what the guys here are talking all resturant like urban tadka bhikaner wala purnamal gazebo and india palace i have been to all of these places so many times and belive even people who cook food on street in delhi makes better food from these.
let me list it out
India palace Biryani : they even dont use basmati rice to make biryani and charge more then 45 AED belive Seasons in INT city makes 100 times better then that (before commenting please try it once) Even the roti's are made from maida !!!
Puranmal Bhikanerwala are even not resturants these are halwai's can only make sweets good food is just OK
Urba tadka is not a resturant only one should stand and eat chat out side b cos it sticks inside.
I haven't been to rupee room so can't comment on it but mention above is not and shuld not be in top ten.
Govinda only good for veg people.
Gazebo except it's Dum biryani which just Ok but not worth the money nothing is good yes 5 years back it was bit better.
Zafran food is good but they some always have disappinted me with cold food and has to ask the to heat it up again. yes they always put less salt so you need to ask for it.
If there is any good and i mean GOOD resturant in Dubai please write in Because in my opinion and taste all of the mentioned above are useless and bad experience its only good for just wanna it out for the heck of it.

The list miss out on the "Zafran" in Mirdif City Centre and Marnina Mall..The food will take you back to the reastaurant again and again. The food is absolutely delicious with freshest of ingredients and the best part is the food is not oily and rich like the indian food served in other restaurants..

Although the list mentions a number of Indian restaurants, it misses out good value restaurants such as Gharana, at Holiday Inn in Barsha, Bikanerwala and Purnmaal. No India Palace.....c'mon its one of Dubai's most established Indian eatery. The list ignores Indian fast food known as Chaat, best place Urban Tadka (Karama /Discovery Gardens) serves up hearty classic street food from your vada pav, pain puri, samosa to delicious masala tea. The list should encompass the broad range of Indian establishments in Dubai rather than focus on fine dining and fusion Indian cuisine.

This list cannot be serious - these are all fine dining establishments - there are dozens of better priced restaurants that serve more authentic food across Bur Dubai and Karama...

I can't believe Amala at the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray hasn't made it onto this list. By far the best Indian restaurant I have eaten in, in Dubai and such great value too.
