Sunstroke's new home

Popular boat-based club night Sunstroke has found a new home at land-locked Club Silk; and their newest event at the club delivered trademark eclectic funky house courtesy of resident and founder DJ Jack Woodcock and the Sunstroke team. Club Silk, incidentally, is just one month old. Based in Al Barsha’s Grand Excelsior Hotel, the venue is already creating a buzz – but this was arguably their biggest house night to date, and could well prove competition for its more established neighbour, Catwalk. Only time will tell. Seasoned sea dogs who want to stick to the distinctly nautical nature of the original Sunstroke concept (ie, aboard a boat) will be please to know that the team will be casting off for their first party upon the open waves (this season, that is) on Friday October 5.
