Logsdail London An independent British tailor, formerly the youngest tailor to have a workshop on London’s famous Savile Row, Leonard Logsdail creates top-notch menswear using high quality fabrics – with a price tag to match. As well as smart shirts, the tailor also creates suits, jackets, trousers and offers a carefully selected range of accessories such as cufflinks, ties and socks. From Dhs4,000 for a suit. Lobo Tailor One of the city’s longest established tailors, Lobo’s clients range from royals who have long put their faith in the quality of the work, to visiting tourists who’ve heard of its reputation for creating sharp suits before even setting foot in Dubai. Made 2 Measure Bespoke Fashion Lounge Located along Jumeirah Beach Road in a smart villa, unisex tailor Made 2 Measure offers good-quality fabric and peace of mind without being overly expensive. If you become a regular here, the staff will make a note of your size and fit, which makes for a more efficient repeat experience (unless the Dubai stone gets to you and some re-measuring is in order). Royal Fashion, Jumeirah With several locations across town, Royal Fashion is known for its knowledgeable staff. It offers a wide range of suiting materials at different price points (including 100 percent cashmere, wool-mix or cotton-mix), and can explain which materials will suit you best according to your lifestyle, and where and how often you’ll be wearing the garment. While it offers a standard suit that can be made in one fitting, the tailors can adapt it to your exact needs (by adjusting the lapel size, jacket length and so on), and are happy to carry out unlimited adjustments until the fit is spot on. Whistle & Flute This tailor offers great value for money. You may need to make a couple of trips to get the fit just right, but the workmanship and end result is superb, and the choice of fabrics is extensive. If you have a shirt that already fits perfectly, the staff can also do great copies. Unfortunately, it’s not the easiest place to find, located in an alleyway that runs through the red brick building next to the Iranian Hospital, but it’s a go-to for those in the know.
