Dubai’s best-known Irish pub threw itself a birthday party – US-style – to celebrate its sixteenth birthday, complete with enormous cake, balloons and a bouncy castle, the latter, unfortunately, just for the kids. Swathes of Dubaians took advantage of the Garhoud watering hole’s large garden to enjoy the cooler temperatures, aided no doubt by Dhs16 drinks on offer, along with live music from The MapleJacks and party tunes from DJ Marky Mark. If you missed it, fear not, the Irish Village never shies away from an opportunity for a shindig: next up is Oktoberfest on Friday October 19 and Saturday October 20, and then Macy Gray in December – though we’d be surprised if they didn’t throw another big bash before then.
