Never will a last-minute cancellation be looked back upon so fondly – Dizzee Rascal, performing in place of the injured Example, thrilled with his lyrical mastery and boundless energy. Dizzee was preceded by a strong set from The Fray (which included lead singer Isaac Slade climbing up the scaffolding), though you had to feel for DJ Fresh who had the near-impossible task of keeping the crowd’s attention once Dizzee was done. It also appeared that organisers had nailed logistics – there were plenty of bar staff and a bus service to again alleviate the taxi queues. We just wish that staff would refuse service to those who are worse for wear – some people, it seems, just can’t handle Sandance.
