10 infinity pools in Dubai
1 Comments 16 October 2012Of the 356 hotels we list on www.timeoutdubai.com, nearly every last one is equipped with a pool – many with fantastic views and water that seems to disappear into infinity. The concept of an infinity pool is nothing new: in the early 1600s, at the French Palace of Versailles, the famous Stag Fountain used a nifty design to create ‘vanishing edges’.
Said vanishing edges make it look as though the water continues for ever, an illusion that’s enhanced when a pool boasts sea views – although the term has come to mean any pool that appears to have no edges. So, with prime lounging weather upon us (at last!), we donned our swimwear to take a dip in some of Dubai’s best. We chose our pools according to the views, the setting, size, depth and other facilities, such as swim-up bars.
