There was a time when Goldie was cool. His early ’90s breakbeat-inspired releases helped set the template for drum n’ bass, and the likes of David Bowie, Noel Gallagher and KRS-One all cued up to collaborate. He was in a high-profile relationship with Björk when she herself appeared to be the coolest woman in the world. Even his acting career started well, working with Guy Ritchie on Snatch and on Bond movie The World is Not Enough, until he slid down the television ladder to Celebrity Big Brother and Strictly Come Dancing. So it was a curious, rather than fervent, crowd who turned out at Trilogy to hear the once-great gold-toofed one drop a set of jungle, drum n’ bass and more . He marks the last international guest getting behind the decks at Trilogy this year, so we expect it'll be the biggest night until the club's NYE Anthems night rolls around on December 31.
