Tell us about your blog. I love to create nutritious healthy food that looks bad for you. Often, people cannot believe that my recipes are healthy.
Favourite Dubai spot? Safa Park. It’s a great running track and I especially love meandering through the Ripe Market (www.ripeme.com) on Friday mornings. Also, 360° (055 500 8518), for beautiful sunsets.
Who do you follow on Instagram? @alice_gao for chic photography; @darcytheflyinghedgehog for the cutest hedgehog ever; @afloralfrenzy for beautiful flower inspiration and @loving_earth for healthy food ideas.
Favourite Dubai eatery? Tom & Serg (050 367 5332). It’s definitely one of Dubai’s coolest cafes and serves the best coffee in town. It reminds me of home in Melbourne.
Favourite bakery? La Serre Boulangerie (04 428 6969), the raisin bread there is amazing.
Favourite healthy menu? Comptoir102 (04 385 4555) for nutritious wholesome food sourced from local organic farms.
Favourite kitchen gadget? My latest obsession is a cold press juicer, I love my green juices.
Hero ingredient for healthy cooking? Raw cacao powder, it’s considered a super-food and the benefits are phenomenal – rich in antioxidants, plus it contains vitamins and minerals, promotes healthy skin, is mood enhancing and has an intense chocolate flavour.
Favourite Dubai spot? In a yoga studio or writing at The Archive (04 349 4033) in Safa Park. I like spending evenings with friends, either in a café along Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Bouvelard or at Toko (04 442 8383) at Vida Downtown Hotel.
What’s your favourite wellbeing spot in Dubai? For guided meditations, I like Illuminations in JLT (04 448 7043). If I’m chilling with friends, it’s the Talise Ottoman Spa, Jumeirah Zabeel Saray (04 453 0456) or if I’m after a reasonably-priced Thai massage, I go to Feet Lounge in Business Bay (04 452 2259).
Favourite local eatery for healthy meals out? Comptoir 102 (04 385 4555) in Jumeirah has amazing gluten and dairy-free dishes, the Ayurvedic-inspired Balance Café at Oasis Centre (04 515 4051), THE One Deli in Jumeirah (04 345 6687) or Lemongrass restaurant in Oud Metha (04 334 2325).
Where do you find the best essentials for a zen life here? I buy most of my food at the Organic Foods & Café and Farmers’ Market (04 338 2911). I love The Hot Box Kit (www.thehotboxkit.com), a cool Dubai-based yoga/dance wear brand, and Carrot, Banana & Peach, a natural fabric yoga line available at Stadium in The Dubai Mall (04 434 0641). I’m also a fan of The Change Initiative (800 824), a one-stop eco-friendly destination on Sheikh Zayed Road.
Favourite Dubai spot? Safa Park. I love to sit in the sun on a big blanket with a few friends or a good book.
Where do you hang out online? Etsy and Pinterest are my personal Bermuda triangles – I can easily lose a whole afternoon just clicking from one vintage wonder to another. I also have a thing for Swedish bloggers. Elsa Billgren (www.elsa.elle.se) and Jessica Silversaga (www.silversaga.se) are two of my favourites.
Who do you follow online? I use Twitter to keep up with what’s happening in the city and I follow Ductac and The Archive. I’m pretty new to Instagram but I like to use it for inspiration so I follow mostly vintage/retro people around the world.
Favourite store in Dubai? I like Garderobe (04 394 2753) for second-hand stuff, it has a good selection and the prices are right.
Favourite local label? Audrey’s Cat’s (www.audreyscat.net) vintage collection is phenomenal. She opens her house once a month and welcomes you with home-made scones, Victoria sponge cakes and tea. She is passionate and sweet, a real lady.
Where do you find the best bargains? Flea markets. You never know what you’re going to find and you can bargain your heart out.
Where do you splurge? Brick Lane in London. There is a little shop called This Shop Rocks (+44 20 7739 7667), the owner used to be a milliner and he has amazing vintage hats.
Favourite Dubai spot? When I’m not at beauty events or working, I can be found rolling around town on my roller skates or checking out new bands across the city.
Favourite place to blog? Don’t tell anyone, but I love to blog from my couch, with a big mug of coffee and wearing fluffy pink socks. Super glamorous.
Where do you hang out online? Pinterest. The amount of time I spend on Pinterest is insane and probably responsible for 90 percent of my lost productivity. I pin everything from make-up inspiration, outfits, haircuts and yummy looking recipes. Mine is www.pinterest.com/aseya. Also, www.intothegloss.com – it features pictures, insider information and exclusive interviews with celebrities, models and international make-up artists. I especially love their Top Shelf series [interviews with stylish types from all over the globe].
Who do you follow on Twitter and Instagram? Into the Gloss founder @Emilywweiss and DJ @hannahbronfman are my imaginary best friends. I follow make-up artists @jademunster and @shannicat for real-life beauty inspiration and @sincerelyjules for her amazing wardrobe (and perfect hair).
Favourite make-up brand? Benefit (04 339 8630) and Urban Decay (www.uae.souq.com) lately. Both brands have products that are surprisingly long-lasting and melt-proof.
What’s your current favourite make-up product? I rarely leave the house without using my NARS (04 339 9828) blush and bronzer duo. It gives you a really pretty flush and will make you look great even if you aren’t wearing any other make-up.
