Time Out Dubai staff
It all got a little James Bond on The Palm today as Dubai Motor Festival hosted the first ever amphibious car race in the UAE.
Two custom-built cars rolled off the beach at Waldorf Astoria and treated shocked guests to a brilliant whizz around the water for some time, before sliding back on to dry land and off into the car park. They will appear again before the festival finishes on November 21.
Dubai Motor Festival started on November 10 and has already seen stunts performed on Sheikh Zayed Road by Ken Block, millions of dirhams worth of cars exhibited at Dubai World Trade Centre and other fun activations. This weekend, the Grand Parade will take place through town, while the Motor Village at Meydan will attract enthusiasts throughout.
