Beach parties are back, brunch season is returning and Oktoberfest has arrived
The weekend is here (almost), so it’s time to get out and about for a couple of days. If you’re looking to make the most of your time off as the temperatures begin to come down a little, here are some brilliant parties to head to this weekend.
Blue Marlin’s season opener Blue Marlin Ibiza UAE, the import of one of Ibiza’s biggest clubs, has confirmed it will be back in business for the post-summer season from Friday September 15. The beach club is promising to “fill your days and nights with nothing but good vibes” and it’s going big for its season opening night. In true Ibiza style, the club is open for beach fun all day, before busting out the world-class acts at night, with ANNA, Latmun and Who Made Who, all dance chart-topping acts, due to appear in the evening of Friday September 15. Jammin at Key West There’s a huge beach party hitting town this weekend, with a big night in store at new venue Key West Bar & Grill. The summer is slowly heading towards its end, and it’s nearly time to get back outside for the winter, so head to Jammin’ at Key West on Friday September 15. It’s being pitched as an evening full of surprises, where the club and all guests “celebrate life” on the beach front. Last Wild Thing Brunch at Barasti This oddly brilliant, relaxed Saturday brunch is due to make its final appearance of the season, with Oktoberfest (see below) due to take its place in the short-term future. The food isn’t outstanding, but it gets the job done. And accompanied by a vast drinks menu, it represents superb value for money. There are many worse ways of spending a Saturday. Oktoberfest kicks off Oktoberfest is coming to Dubai, and that means the most exuberant, fun-loving and musical German hops festival is nearly here. Bars up and down the city are donning their lederhosen, polishing the steins, preparing some pretzels and cooking up some currywurst. This year is going to be big, and we’ve rounded up are loads of places where you can get into the festive German spirit for one of the most celebrated months of the year. The Laughter Factory Get ready for some proper belly-laughing, as The Laughter Factory is back for a stellar line-up of September gigs across Dubai. top acts include legendary circuit comedian JoJo Smith, who is celebrating her 24th year in the biz this year, and will be bringing her outspoken style based on a life surviving hard knocks. Smith is joined by John Moloney and Jeff Innocent. The show is on at the Grand Millennium Hotel Dubai in Barsha Heights on Thursday September 14, before two shows in one night on Friday September 15. The Music Room This legendary Bur Dubai live music hotspot is soon to close for good. The venue has seen the likes of international artists The Proclaimers, Apache Indian, Avail, Dam Funk and many more rock out on its stage and entertain fans, as well as being the launch base for albums by Jonas Desai and Craig Perry.
