Big Bite Out at Jumeirah Dubai’s Madinat Jumeirah is hosting a huge night brunch tonight (Thursday October 5) to kick off Jumeirah Restaurant Week, which runs until Friday October 13. Madinat Jumeirah’s Big Bite Out launches a week of massive menu offers spanning restaurants and bars across the resort, including Jumeirah Al Qasr, Jumeirah Mina A’Salam and Jumeirah Al Naseem hotels. For Dhs395, you’ll be able to enjoy drinks and dishes at 14 outlets, including steak and s’mores at The Hide, a crudo bar at Rockfish, duck pancakes at Zheng He’s, plus a spot of piñata-bashing at Tortuga. Fashion Hits Home at YAS Mall Domesticated followers of fashion will feel right at home at Yas Mall this weekend. The sprawling shopping complex has brought some of the best interior design minds on the planet to the capital for the five-day Fashion Hits Home event, which runs until Saturday October 7. Boulevard One Festive Boutique fashion exhibition Fashion and events company Boulevard One are set to showcase more than 50 top Pakistani, Indian and international fashion designers during a two-day exhibition this weekend at the Royal Ballroom in the Palace Downtown Dubai. DJ MK at Zero Gravity The club is launching its new Friday festival on October 6 with international DJ MK taking to the stage. The weekly festival, called Ritual, promises to “awaken all your senses” and includes garden interactive zones such as infinity mirror walls, aroma tee pees and flavoured edible bubbles that you can discover before hitting the dancefloor, with a different international DJ each week. Dream Theater Legendary rockers Dream Theater are heading to town, with Dubai set to experience arguably its biggest night of rock this year. The classic prog rockers launched their debut album Images, Words & Beyond 25 years ago, and are embarking on a massive tour to celebrate the anniversary. With tracks including Pull Me Under, and Another Day still drawing in sold out crowds a quarter of a century after its first release, combined with a spectacular light and visual show, a big night is in store when the band arrives in town tomorrow at The Dome in Dubai Sports City. Dubai Vine Week at Lucky Voice Customers get a two-for-one deal on all bottles of grape this weekend as part of Dubai Vine Week and between 2pm and 4pm, you can pay for a glass of grape using only a grape bottle cork. Jumeirah Restaurant Week If you can’t make the Big Bite Out, you have a whole seven days afterwards to take advantage of Jumeirah Restaurant Week. Narcosia This promises to be one of the biggest bashes this weekend. This is the first yacht gathering party, without the exclusivity of having to own your own liner. Oktoberfest Oktoberfest has arrived in Dubai, and that means the most exuberant, fun-loving and musical German hops festival is upon us. There are plenty of places you can get into the German party spirit, including Brothas Bakery, where you’ll find schnitzel, bratwurst and lebkuchen (German gingerbread) and packages of hops, plus, take part in stein-holding competitions, eating contests and more. R3HAB at Destination Dawn The 12-hour beach party is back at Ras Al Khaimah’s Al Marjan Island, featuring some awesome headline acts throughout the night. DJ and producer R3HAB headlines, with support from Bassjackers and trio Swanky Tunes, among others. It’s promising to be a massive night in RAK, which runs from 5pm until 5am and will feature food trucks, beverages and chill-out zones. Room 108 Cigar Lounge This brand-new malt beverage and cigar spot has opened up at Majestic Hotel Tower in Bur Dubai. It’s small, but don’t let that fool you, this place is cool, suave, sophisticated, and super-affordable. SoundOpia Full Moon Festival The desert shindig is making its return this weekend for a massive 24-hour party. The music and art festival will feature non-stop tunes, activities and fun throughout, and claims to be like a Middle Eastern version of the Burning Man festival (think blasting techno, deep house and robotic dance). There will be two stages and more than 20 artists at the event at Badu Land, including international DJs Zanon and Virtual Light. Soul Jam The jazz, soul and R&B festival takes place tonight at The Irish Village. At the top of the bill this year sits Alexander O’Neal, the ’80s soul sensation with arguably his biggest hit Criticize recently re-entering the UK single charts 30 years after its release.
