Celebrate at McGettigan’s McGettigan’s Madinat Jumeirah turns one, and how a year has flown by for the latest branch of this massive Irish pub chain. Erick Morillo to headline BASE Huge international DJ Erick Morillo is coming to BASE on Thursday October 12, known for massive club hit I Like To Move It and a back catalogue that also features Live Your Life. Grape Affair at Nikki Privé It’s Fruday, the weather has improved and it’s time to chill out at one of Dubai’s beach clubs. After a day in the pool or on the sand why not try out this new offer from trendy Nikki Privé? Guy Gerber at Blue Marlin Legendary DJ and producer Guy Gerber is bringing Rumours to Blue Marlin Ibiza UAE this weekend, with support from Acid Mondays. The legendary beach club party destination will also feature performances from Frederick Stone, Jean B, Jixo & Danz plus Aidin Karami. Bring your best swimwear, it’s going to be a big day and night. Infinity Sessions at Nasimi Beach Nasimi Beach is getting ready to launch a brand-new monthly night, and it’s promising to be a hoot. Topping the list is legendary Dutch house DJ and producer Fedde Le Grand, who will be providing his chart-topping hits like So Much Love, and, of course, Put Your Hands Up 4 Detroit… I love this city. Doors open from 7pm, until the night draws to an end at 3am. Inner City Zoo opens in JBR Partygoers, listen up. There’s a brand-new nightclub in town and it’s opening on Friday October 13. With space for 450 partygoers, Inner City Zoo comprises table seating as well as a central dancefloor in front of the DJ booth. UK DJ Emma Love and L’Afrique Musique legend Henry X will be taking to the decks from Monday to Friday spinning house and R&B classics, ensuring that club-goers will be up on their feet and dancing the night away. Jersey Boys is on at Dubai Opera This is a show the term “jukebox musical” was made for. Even if you think you’ve never heard a single song by The Four Seasons and don’t have the foggiest who Frankie Valli is, we guarantee you’ll be able to sing along to at least one of the smash hits in the show. For a feel-good, all-singing, all-dancing night out, filled with tunes that hark back to a 1960s that is all but forgotten now, Jersey Boys is tough to beat. From Dhs250. McGettigan’s JLT – the world’s best Irish pub If you’ve had a brilliant time at McGettigan’s recently, and that’s probably pretty likely, it’s because it has just been crowned the best Irish pub of the year (outside of Ireland) at the Irish Pubs Global Awards. Square DXB’s new ladies’ night Thursday nights are “Strictly Urban” at Square, with Luwayne Wonder playing a selection of urban, hip-hop, and R&B. The Backyard returns to the great outdoors Outdoor nights are back at The Backyard for the start of what it’s calling “Season 2”. Expect new twists on the menu, with new special Thai mixed drinks and plates. Expect funky music, a cool vibe, and a whopping 50 percent off the food truck menu and selected beverage if you’re a hotelier, cabin crew member, work in retail or, weirdly, a banker (if you go on a Sunday). The Andiamo Brunch with Bartolini at Roberto’s The Dubai location of Roberto’s is kicking off its brunch season with a special menu prepared by Italy’s youngest two-Michelin star winning chef Enrico Bartolini, who will also attend. The Laughter Factory chucks out a few lols Brilliant TV comedian Markus Birdman coming to town with The Laughter Factory. As well as regular headline sets at The Comedy Store in London, Birdman has been around the block on the small screen, from Netflix to the BBC, but watching online is no substitute for seeing this quick witted comedy genius live in town.
