It’s the weekend and that means it’s time to spend as much time out and about with mates as you can possible cram into a 42 hour period. Sunset Festival Get yourselves down to Barasti this weekend for the Sunsets Festival. Headline acts come from Bakermat on Thursday November 2 and from Duke Dumont on Friday November 3. With a floating bar, live music and inflatables, it’s set to be a whole lot of fun. The festival is based around the four elements – water, fire, earth and wind – with activities in different zones. On Friday November 3, Surf House Dubai is running stand-up paddleboard yoga sessions, while on Saturday November 4 the DJs will take to the floating pontoon to get you dancing in the water. KT Tunstall live Scottish singer songwriter KT Tunstall is coming to Dubai for a one-off gig at the Habtoor Grand Resort in JBR on Thursday November 2. Learn some street art A huge urban street art festival is in town this weekend every day until Saturday November 4. Blue Cave Urban Art Festival is an action-packed three-day event, with a huge programme of workshops, live art installations and some incredible exhibitions from some of the region’s most distinguished artists. Expect live music, live painting and poetry, performances, talks and workshops at d3, where all created works and installations will remain at d3 as part of the district’s public art curated programme for the whole year round. Open-air cinema Fancy a film? Check out some outdoor cinema with #DXBExperiments Presents: The Cinema. Beach Soccer Tournament Teams from the UAE, Brazil, Portugal, Iran, Russia, Paraguay, Mexico and Egypt will go all out to win at the Intercontinental Beach Soccer Cup, taking place in Business Bay this week. Have a session with a fitness star Much-celebrated fitness fanatic Kayla Itsines is coming to Dubai for the first time. The Australian, who has been names Forbes’ 2017 world’s top fitness influencer is hosting an exclusive workout on Friday November 3). Itsines will lead a specially-created 28-minute workout at 5pm, inspiured by her world-renowned programme. Fitness enthusiasts in Dubai are sure to be thrilled with the news. The workout will take place t the outdoor area of Golden Mile Galleria 2 and is the perfect way to get involved with the Dubai Fitness Challenge. Free. 5pm. Fri Nov 3. Dubai Fitness Challenge weekend carnival Across the weekend, from 1pm on Friday November 3 until 7pm on Saturday November 4, Skydive Dubai will be transformed into an adventure and extreme sport haven. The event will feature everything from BMX and free-running/parkour courses, to skate parks, a climbing wall and, get this, kayaking, canoeing, paragliding and an urban attack obstacle race course. White Party at Nikki Beach Head to the world-famous beach club’s White Party, which this year has a circus theme. There’s promised to be “an extravaganza of live performances, entertainment, gourmet cuisine”, plus music from resident DJs. Fight night at FIVE Head to FIVE Palm Jumeirah for the first in a series of new events coming to the Palm, where 20 stars of MMA, boxing and kickboxing will be battling it out. Take the Dubai Fitness Challenge at Jumeirah Golf Estates Walk nine holes of the championship course (which will soon host the annual DP Tour Championships) in aid of the Dubai Fitness Challenge.
