360’s 13th birthday Dubai institution 360° turns 13 years old this week, and to celebrate the popular bar is hosting a giant birthday bash. On Thursday November 9 expect a huge party at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel location, led by house and techno DJ, DJ Secondcity. The American-born British DJ will be spinning his signature beats include his UK number 1 hit I Wanna Feel. Partygoers can also expect dance to the tunes of his summer hits including Music is What Brings Us, Kwelanga and Terrace Tales. F45 Fitness Challenge On Friday November 10, Barasti will be swarming with the strongest, fastest and most ripped gym buffs in the city, who will be battling it out to win a Dhs2,500 cash prize. The F45 fitness challenge will see competitors work through ten stations in ten minutes, each designed to test their speed, strength, agility, endurance mobility and power. Exercises include rowing, bench hop, TRX push up knee tuck, lateral hop, box jump and burpee, chin ups, squat and press, Russian twists, dead ball over the shoulder and sprints with a lateral hop. Liam Gallagher and The Chemical Brothers at Party in the Park Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher is heading to Dubai to perform at the Party in the Park festival at Dubai Media City. Expect singalong classics from his Oasis days and a bunch of new material from his debut solo album As You Were, which will be released in October. Ocean Colour Scene The ’90s Britpop band will be playing a gig at The Irish Village on Thursday November 9, and you can to see the nostalgic group for just Dhs165. The band are heading to The Irish Village as part of their Moseley Shoals 20th Anniversary Tour, where they’ll be performing their greatest hits.
From anthemic driving tune Hundred Mile High City to breakout hit The Riverboat Song or jaunty The Day We Caught The Train, Ocean Colour Scene have an incredible back catalogue of hits from the ’90s. In fact, the band had 17 UK top 40 singles and five UK top ten albums, so the night will play a massive part in making this season’s incredible line-up just a little bit more special. Dhs165. Omid Djalili On top of his massive 110-date tour of his latest tour, stand-up comedian Omid Djalili is coming back to Dubai on Saturday November 11 at the Music Hall at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray on the Palm. The one-night-only concert will see two shows, one at 6pm and one again at 9pm, put on by Standup DXB. Never one to shy away from addressing the tough topics, Djalili’s latest show tackles many political subjects head on directly with comedic and satirical aplomb, and was acclaimed by UK publication London Evening Standard: “In troubled times, you can always rely on Omid Djalili for a bit of belly-dancing-based levity.” From Dhs195. Paco Perez at Centre Cut Michelin-starred chef Paco Perez is hosting a specially curated feast of Spanish delicacies at pop-up restaurant Centre Cut Steak House at The Ritz-Carlton DIFC. The winter pop-up will be open until January 2018, and celebrates the culinary side of all things Spanish. In addition to a variety of fresh dishes made using quality raw ingredients inspired by Catalonian flavours, Centre Cut will also be providing some brilliant cuts of US and Australian beef, with fine quality beverages and an indoor or al fresco dining options. Party Monsters family rave Party Monsters is set to launch in Dubai on Saturday November 11, taking place at The Backyard at the Steigenberger Hotel Business Bay, home of the OYE! Night. Due to take place on the second Saturday every month from November until April 2018, Paty Monsters is an afternoon festival blending together great music and a range of activities the whole family can enjoy.
There will be great music, arts and crafts, classic arcade games, a magician, face painting, balloon animals plus baby changing stations. Reform’s Brighton Brunch British gastropub Reform is bringing a brand-new brunch to town this weekend, taking guests down to Brighton Beach for the day. Once a month head to this riverside brunch featuring classic British seaside dishes including fish and chips in newspaper, shell on prawns, doughnuts, ice cream. There will be face painting and games for the kids, and grown up fun for adults including giant skittles, hook the ducks and more typical coastal fun. Russell Kane Following a completely sold out visit to Dubai on Thursday 9 November, UK comedian Russell Kane has extended his stay to a second night. The Essex comedian is in town as part of the DXBLaughs comedy series, and is playing at the Madinat Theatre on Thursday November 9. Having completely sold out his first night, it has been confirmed that Kane is spending a second night at the Souk Madinat Jumeirah theatre, with tickets for Friday November 10 now available. Season opener weekend at The Beach On Friday November 10 and Saturday 11, head down to Meraas’ beachfront destination for its official season opening weekend. Get your beach bag ready, stock up on sun cream, roll up your beach towels and head down for a selection of beach games, a giant picnic and a huge stage featuring a line-up of entertainment, plus tonnes more. There will be three interactive zones based around distinct themes – taste, enjoy and play, with each one filled with the sort of activities you’d expect.
Pick up some grub from one of the many food and beverage outlets, keep the kids entertained in the play area while there are also Wipe Out-inspired obstacles and more challenges testing stamina and strength. Sensation Taking place at Meydan Racecourse in Nad Al Sheba, on Friday November 10, “the white party” is coming back to town for its fourth year. We recently confirmed that ex-Swedish House Mafia DJ Steve Angello is going to be leading the line-up, but the full list has now been confirmed, and it’s going to be fun. Join 15,000 people at one of the biggest parties of the year, headlined by Steve Angello, with support coming from the likes of Sam Feldt, known for his reworking of Robin S’ Show Me Love, a mega hit in the UK this year. It’s his first time in Dubai, with a full live band coming with him. Beyond the music, though, there’s going to be a huge, huge show running alongside, with epic entertainment plus a stunning light, laser and pyrotechnics show to boot. Sunrise market A Saturday morning brekkie isn’t really complete without freshly brewed coffee and freshly baked bread, so the arrival of the Sunrise Market at friendly neighbourhood café The Sum Of Us could not be timed any better.
Arriving in time for winter, this Saturday morning market will be serving up fresh, artisanal breakfast dishes, with baked treats being provided by Rise&Dawn Bakehouse, alongside encounter Coffee. You can also have a meander through a whole bunch of unique local arts and crafts vendors, with Dubai Garden Centre (which has recently announced a winter Garden Souk) joining various boutique brands including Child Of The Tropics and Scamp and Vice Jewellery. Tap House’s first birthday It’s already coming up on a year since Club Vista Mare opened its doors on Palm Jumeirah, and one of the beach-side destination’s top venues is celebrating in style. Rounding off a week of celebrations at The Tap House on Thursday 9 will be live music and entertainment, and a typically busy Thursday night down on Club Vista Mare. Nov 3-9. The Color Run Taking place on Saturday November 11 at 7am, The Color Run by Daman’s Activelife is a 5km run with a bit of a difference – there are no timers, so if you’re looking to beat your personal best, this isn’t the place. It is, however, being called the “happiest 5km on the planet” by the organiser, and promises one of the most colourful experiences of the year. Start in pure white and end pelted in colour from head to toe, with new and exclusive course features coming to this year’s event, including the Foam Zone, a 15-metre stretch of dreamy foam, while all new colours and zones have been added for 2017. Uriah Heep Heavy metal rockers and all-time greats Uriah Heep are heading to Dubai this weekend for a one-off gig at The Secret Garden at Jumeirah Creekside Hotel. The iconic rock band will be coming to Dubai for the very first time on Friday November 10, in what promises to be a huge throwback to classic metal sounds of the 1970s. Alongside Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, Uriah Heep were one of the most definitive bands of the generation, known for popular acoustic-inspired track Wizard and definitive prog rock tune July Morning.
