Now that the holiday festivities are over and 2018 has been firmly welcomed in, it’s time to turn our attentions to the celebrations in store for Chinese New Year.

Asia Republic A slightly more casual spot at Atlantis, Asia Republic has compiled an exclusive à la carte menu to celebrate Chinese New Year, featuring dishes such as wok-fried jumbo prawns for Dhs138 and Cantonese style stir-fried ginger beef for Dhs68. Armani/Mediterraneo Head to this banquet-style buffet to enjoy a sampling of Chinese culinary traditions complemented with Asian and European favourites. Hakkasan Hang your New Year’s wishes on red ribbons and see the dining area of this wonderful Chinese fine-dining restaurant transformed. Priced at Dhs598 per person, guests opting for a dedicated menu will be treated to dishes using traditional ingredients thought to bring happiness, longevity, luck and prosperity. Dishes include schezuan wind-dried oyster with lotus root with crispy rice in man tou, braised beef and caramelised walnut with asparagus and mint, grilled Chilean sea bass with kumquat glaze and wok-fried lobster with edamame and caviar, plus lamb in seaweed soy with celery and enoki mushroom. Hong Loong This restaurant at Sofitel The Palm is offering a four-course set menu for dinner with soft drinks and a bottle of grape for two. Junsui This Burj Al Arab Jumeirah eatery is offering up a full show to celebrate the New Year. Dancers will parade through the hotel performing various ensembles – there’s even a live harpist. Royal China Time Out Dubai’s Best Chinese Restaurant of 2017, Royal China, is serving up a feast of traditional dishes to see in the Chinese New Year. Saffron Over the Chinese New Year period, Saffron at Atlantis The Palm will be presenting a range of contemporary Chinese dishes with live cooking stations to make the special occasion. YUAN One of the city’s top Chinese restaurants is putting together a celebratory feast to mark the turn of the Year of the Dog. From Thursday Feb 15 until Friday 24, get your hands on a specially created à la carte menu featuring yu sheng salmon salad with snow pear and stir-fried lobster with ginger and spring onion.
