Dubai Restaurant week returns This is set to be a week your taste buds won’t forget. Flashback 54 Head to Moe’s on 5th for Studio 54 props, glitter, sparkles and sensational live music. Flashback 54 takes place once a month with classic disco and disco-house tunes performed by singer and DJ, Simonne Cooper, who has performed with the likes of Tiesto, Erick Morillo and Roger Sanchez. Watch Eugene Onegin The Polish National Opera is coming to the city with lungs of steel to tell us the passionate story of a selfish young man who lives to regret his rejection of a young woman’s love. Mohammad Orfali at Olea TV MasterChef, Mohammad Orfali to Dubai is heading to Olea to knock up a 12 course gourmet feast celebrating the flavours of the Levant. The Syrian chef will draw on his Aleppian roots to create a truly unique culinary experience, where diners can feast on delectable Middle Eastern favourites such as freekeh risotto, kibbeh and fresh fish clay pot. Jason Derulo live at Base Global superstar Jason Derulo is coming to Dubai’s BASE nightclub (the d3 outdoor “super-venue”) tonight, kicking off the club’s new monthly night, LYFE. Pop up cinema A free pop-up cinema is coming to food truck spot Last Exit and there’s nothing like a bit of on-screen action to help you work up an appetite. House Party at Girders More live music, over in a different part of town, as the House Party series continues. Supporting local bands and artists, the series seeks to give acts a platform to perform and added exposure to Dubaians. Elrow Festival of colour To celebrate the arrival of Soho Beach at Soho Garden, top Ibiza party Elrow is coming to open proceedings, with international DJ Luciano hitting the decks from 8pm. Tokyo Hour at Ramusake Head to this trendy Japanese-themed bar, for some top deals. From Saturday through until Tuesday you can get two-for-one on selected house beverages. August Alsina at Drai’s New York rapper August Alsina is coming to town on Friday February 23 to headline a top billing at the Las Vegas night club import, Drai’s. Known for his smash hit I Luv This, Alsina is one of the brightest prospects on the US rap scene, following his 2014 debut album Testimony hitting the number two spot on the US Billboard 200 album charts. Publique Head along to Publique’s new nightly brunch over the weekend for a range of starters to share, a main course and a selection of desserts, all served to the table. Dishes include cured meats and cheeses to start, followed by the restaurant’s specialities – raclette (layers of molten cheese), fondue (molten cheese in a pot) and pierrade – hot stone cooking. Les P’tites Ouvreuses live Head to the Alliance Française Dubai Auditorium in Oud Metha this weekend for something completely different. French quartet Les P’tites Ouvreuses will be hosting a free concert with a performance showcasing a range of their creations – a mix of dance music, popular poetry and world music – created through guitar, vocals, accordion, drums and bass guitar. The 1,001 Flavours Brunch at Ewaan Get stuck into 1,001 delectable flavours at Ewaan’s sumptuous brunch. Watercolour Festival Witness the creation of the longest watercolour painting seen in the UAE in this year’s Watercolour Festival, with 600 artists taking part and learning from the masters such as Galina Gomzina.
