Another week is over, which means another weekend is about to kick off. As always, there’s plenty to do in Dubai, and we’ve rounded up the best of the bunch to make sure you enjoy it to its full potential. From feasts to fitness and everything in between, we’ve got your weekend covered.
Madinat Jumeirah Big Bite Out Tonight (Thursday March 1) will see the return of Madinat Jumeirah’s Big Bite Out, a dine around brunch, but this time the foodie powers-that-be have created a menu of bigger proportions at the most popular restaurants across Jumeirah Al Naseem, Jumeirah Mina A’Salam and Jumeirah Al Qasr.
For Dhs395 a head, including unlimited drinks all night, indulge in some freshly shucked Fine de Claire oysters at Rockfish and savour some freshly made saj and huge spit roast lamb at Khaymat Al Bahar. Mexican tastes at Tortuga await, but a tower of five different dim-sums and Beijing duck pancakes at Zheng He’s may just sway you instead. Emirates Festival of Literature Calling all bookworms, the Emirates Airline Literature Festival has returned. From talks with Jane Hawking, author of autobiography Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen, to hearing from Saroo Brierley, whose book A Long Way Home was adapted into the Oscar-nominated movie, Lion, it’s the perfect place to embrace the world of literature. The Nineteen90s Five-piece Indie band The Nineteen90s will be playing tonight at The Crown & Lion promising the sounds best sounds of the 1990s to transport you back to the good old days. Cheap drinks a Bar Baar New Bur Dubai bar Bar Baar (try saying that quickly) is now open at Majestic Hotel Tower, and to celebrate it is serving up Dhs10 drinks deals all weekend. The new Indian social hub, which is opening in the former venue of The Music Room, opens today and will be luring in patrons with everything from mixed drinks to grape for less than you’d pay for a bag of poppadums. Shaolin Warriors – The Kung Fu Masters The Shaolin Warriors – The Kung Fu Masters are in Dubai this weekend for the last few days of a five-day run at Dubai Opera. The historic show, which stars 21 Kung Fu masters from Shaolin, China, follows the story of a young child’s initiation into the Warriors, to become a fully-fledged warrior following years of dedicated training. Cheer on the winners at Dubai World Cup Carnival Hold your horses (sorry), the Dubai World Cup isn’t here just yet. Dubai International Boat Show The Dubai International Boat Show heads to Dubai Water Canal with newer and swankier boats to ogle at. Nike Run Club Get your knees up this weekend with Dubai Nike+ Run Club (NRC).
