ANTS The ANTS are on the march and they’re headed en-masse to Soho Beach. This Friday the massive worldwide party brand will be arriving in the city with a phenomenal line-up of DJs including Andrea Oliva, Art Department, Lawler, Matthias Tanzmann, and Sasha. From Dhs200. Candypants rooftop pool party at The Penthouse Whoever said Saturdays were for chilling clearly didn’t know about this. Famous party brand Candypants now hosts a weekly pool party on the Palm, where ladies can get unlimited packages, with gents having a minimum spend of Dhs249. Dine around City Walk If you’re after fine dining, look no further. Thursday (March 8) night sees The Urban Jungle arrive at City Walk. Chefs Virgilio Martinez of LIMA Dubai, Jeff and Chris Galvin of Galvin Dubai and Jamie Bissonnette and Ken Oringer of Toro + KO will be cooking up a nine-course menu to wow you. Dubai Creek and Yacht Club open day The Peter Cowen Academy at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club is hosting a free open day on Friday (March 9). Budding golfers can head along to free golf clinics to try golf, racquet fans will enjoy the opportunity to try padel tennis on a complimentary basis, while Fit Lab is providing a range of free fitness sessions. International Kite Fest As Mary Poppins would say, “Let’s go fly a kite!” Returning for the fourth time, the skies of Sunset Beach will be filled with colours and interesting shapes as kite enthusiasts from around the world show-off their high-flying skills. International Women’s Day Thursday March 8 is International Women’s Day, and there are plenty of events around the city to mark it. In celebration of the occasion, Gaucho is moving its Hola Chicas ladies’ night to Thursday instead of Saturday for one night only. Ladies will get three roses, which can be exchanged for free drinks. Lucky Voice Disney Brunch Dust off your princess dress for Lucky Voice’s Disney Edition brunch, every Friday from 1pm-4pm. Nike Run Club Get your knees up this weekend with Dubai Nike+ Run Club (NRC). Helping runners of all calibres unlock their full potential while sharing the experience with a supportive collective, NRC sessions are held every Tuesday and Friday mornings at various locations, with Friday’s run being held at Barsha Pond Park.
Led by Nike Head Coaches, NRC provides a haven for the city’s runners to come together for a live experience where they can gain valuable guidance, helping both first-time and routine runners take their stride and gradually log in more miles. Pop-up cinema A free pop-up cinema is coming to food truck spot Last Exit and there’s nothing like a bit of on-screen action to help you work up an appetite. Taste of Dubai Foodies, your favourite weekend of the year has arrived. The Laughter Factory The Laughter Factory’s back, and mum’s the word, as all pregnant ladies are invited to giggle and guffaw their way through the night free of charge. Triple Trouble Ladies’ Night The new ladies’ night at Steigenberger Hotel Business Bay is spread over three venues and best of all, it’s on a Thursday night. Van Gogh An internationally acclaimed multi-media art exhibition bringing the works of Dutch artist Vincent Van Gogh to life is going on display in Dubai this Sunday.
Van Gogh Alive, which will take over d3 for a six-week run, brings together more than 3,000 images adorning the walls, floors and ceilings of the sprawling art space, using 40 high-definition projectors.
