Fancy a bite with your pint? Then these are the bars you should be heading for
We took to the watering holes of Dubai to hunt down the best bar food for you to try. Here's what we found...
We voted this spot the home of Dubai’s best bar food, and for good reason. It has a sophisticated atmosphere and relaxed, cool vibe, and its concept for bar food is fresh (the chorizo makes a nice alternative to fish and chips).
Expats swarm to Barasti not just for the expansive al fresco area or the solid musical acts, but for the exceptional pub grub as well. The fish and chips at this beachside watering hole are a local favourite.
It’s a rare sports fan who doesn’t require a bar snack or two in the course of their games viewing and this Antipodean hotspot happily obliges. The food is very much pub fare, but it’s pub fare done exceedingly well.
Belgian Beer Café:
This cosy chrome-filled space has a great selection of Belgian drafts, and some truly unique Belgian eats as well. Meatballs, mussels and some authentic Belgian fries make BBC (as it’s known) a memorable spot for noshing.
This sleek, hip and clubby space keeps the punters well fed with its selection of dim sum, and other pan-Asian favourites. The space is often packed, which is a testament to the bar’s popularity.
This convivial spot is great for enjoying a pint in the large al fresco space (during the winter, at least). The kitchen serves all the Irish favourites, like fish and chips and weekend fry-ups.
This Madinat spot has some great jazz cover bands, good cocktails and some consistently excellent bar snacks. The sharing platter makes a good start, as it’s not too heavy, and makes a good side to Jam Base’s legendary espresso martinis.
Oscar’s Vine Society:
What Oscar’s has going for it is an incredible wine selection, a cheery atmosphere, and some fine French fare. It’s a great spot to indulge in French cheese, stews and breads.
The bar food at this beautiful, waterside bar is more meal food than snack food. The setting is beautiful, and a cheese platter makes a nice way to sit back as the sun goes down, and listen to beats of the in-house DJ.
This Aviation Club watering hole boasts a popular restaurant as well as a tasty array of bar snacks. We like the smoke salmon platter and the cheese fondue over a couple of glasses of vino.
