InterContinental Dubai Festival City
Take a break, without leaving Dubai, this summer Discuss this article

It’s the summer, and we all want to get away if we can, but sometimes it’s just not possible. Luckily, a couple of days away from the world is far easier to arrange, especially this summer.
We headed down to the InterContinental at Festival City to check out their summer promotion, Stay Sweet, Say Suite.
This is one of the best deals in town over the hotter months - Dhs999 for a night in one of the hotel’s top suites, with two free kids spaces, and Dhs300 in shopping vouchers to spend at Festival City. Never mind the half price spa treatments.
The hotel itself is one of the best examples of slick modernity and style that Dubai has to offer. The suites are huge, immaculately decorated, and just on the comfy side of stylish.
You could sleep in the beds forever, and the bathrooms, with their rain showers and sunken tubs with views of the city, are to die for.
Beyond the suites, the hotel is equally impressive. In a rare move, we hit the gym, which is fully-staffed and open 24-hours a day with the best range of equipment we’ve ever seen. The pool is similarly impressive, with shaded private areas in place of parasols – perfect in the height of summer.
After a heavenly night in the aforementioned best bed EVER. We woke up for a relaxing breakfast, before checking out the spa.
Now, we always suspected it was going to be good. It’s the only spa in Dubai that stocks Natura Bisse products for starters. For those of you not in the know, this Spanish brand is one of the world’s best.
We opted for a relaxing sugar scrub followed by the Intercontinental’s signature massage. There’s also a Basil and Mint scrub, designed to invigorate, so the choice really depends on whether you’re looking to wake up, or wind down.
Massage wise, the same rules apply. Our therapist asked at several intervals whether we were happy with the pressure, and which areas we’d like her to focus on. Perfect if you spend your life hunched over a desk, or a lot of time on your feet as you can specify which bits are in the most need of work. We emerged feeling thoroughly rejuvenated and a whole lot smoother. In fact, we may have become spa converts.
