Time Out reveals information and new pictures of rainforest inside Dubai hotel skyscraper, the upcoming Rosemont on Sheikh Zayed Road

Last April we learnt a new Dubai skyscraper was set to become the first in the UAE to have a rainforest housed within it.
Located on Sheikh Zayed Road near Barsha Heights and The Greens, Rosemont Hotel and Residences will be a dual-tower development consisting of two skyscrapers, which were initially billed to be 47 stories high but will now be an extra six stories taller.
We’ve since discovered a lot more about the otherworldly features of this ‘creation’ by ZAS Architects, in association with Kieferle&Partner, and even by Dubai standards they stand out for their uniqueness.
If you've scrolled through all the pictures above, let’s kick off with the most unique selling point of this two million square metre development: the rainforest.
Guests can expect to be surrounded by an immaculately landscaped tropical oasis with dappled sunlight and a hazy mist lightly spraying through the trees.
There will be waterfalls, streams and a splash pool along the sand-less beach in which to cool down.
Families can also look forward to trails and play zones and even a Jurassic-inspired marsh for the kids to enjoy.
Technology will even supply the illusion of tropical rain without actually getting wet, thanks to a sensory rainfall system which creates a 360-degree experience.
The humidity will be real however, as large supplies of stored recycled water will help mimic the climate of the Amazon or the Congo (we’re guessing temperatures will still be a lot cooler than summer in Dubai).
There is plenty more to rave about regarding the upcoming Rosemont Hotel and Residences.
The hotel’s zero-edge skypool will have a star-studded base, as if the night sky was upside down, not to mention the vertigo-testing views of Dubai and the structure’s glass bottom.
Upon arrival at the ultra-luxurious complex, guests will be instantly immersed in a sensory experience, with advanced technology transforming the upper ground floor drop-off and arrival area with ever-changing dynamic 3D projections ranging from a lush rainforest to an underwater paradise.
Other attractions include an entertainment complex with a skydive simulator, a bowling alley and luxury cinema.
