Stunning from the outside, with its tower and thrusting waterfront extension, the Sheraton is slick but straightforwardly businesslike within.

A huge escalator leads the way up to the dimly lit foyer, where a number of restaurants are located. There are numerous room options, some with amazing Creek views (for which you pay extra). Rooms are comfortable, and while they don’t exactly ooze character you can cheer yourself with the fact that they’re excellent value for money.

The key advantage for the more adventurous tourist is the hotel’s location – although the Sheraton is far from the beach, it is a short skip away from the likes of the abra station and gold and spice souk.
