Capitol Hotel

Basic hotel just outside the Jumeirah beachside community Reviews

A good alternative to Dubai’s garish glitz, the Capitol is a pleasantly basic affair with reasonably sized standard rooms boasting huge beds but banal views of built-up Satwa.

Suites are large and welcoming, with a well-decorated living space, and can be extended through the use of an adjoining twin room. Should the mood take you, you can request one of three masseuses to perform treatments in your room.

Sadly, the Capitol is let down by its facilities; the rooftop is home to an underwhelming swimming pool and a lonely Lebanese restaurant, the Chinese eatery is dismal and the gym is pokey.

The hotel is situated close to both Satwa’s bustling streets and the beach, and nothing is more than a short taxi ride away. As such it remains a popular choice for leisure travellers from Eastern Europe, the Gulf States, China and India, as well as more regular business guests.
