Grand Hyatt Dubai

With 674 rooms, the Grand Hyatt is an impressive exercise in hotel-based bombast. It also houses a running track, three outdoor pools, four tennis courts, a spa, 14 busy restaurants and bars and (gulp) its very own indoor rainforest with four-tonne dhows hung overhead.
Rooms are decorated with contemporary Arabic touches and bathrooms are smallish, although the massaging shower and colossal tub – which could happily house three people plus the family pet – quickly subdue any spatial quibbles.
A great deal of planning has gone into separating the business and pleasure areas, with secluded lounges and executive spaces ensuring the money-minded don’t have to contend with children playing leapfrog. Big, bold and beautiful.
