Dhow Palace Hotel
Boating themed hotel in Bur Dubai Discuss this article
This relative newcomer on the block is shaped like a ship, and all the staff wear sailing attire. Taste has bypassed the lobby area too and reception staff are sometimes less than helpful.
Rooms, however – there are 282 in total – are suitably spacious and furnished in contemporary Arabic decor that doesn’t overly assault the senses.
Not being by the beach, the Dhow Palace is in need of a decent swimming pool; sadly it is surprisingly small and suffers from a lack of tan-topping areas and sun loungers. The gym and other leisure facilities are adequate enough – although hardly what you would call five star.
Situated slap bang in the middle of the concrete jungle of Bur Dubai, the Dhow Palace’s location isn’t a pretty one, but it is conveniently close to several Dubai landmarks.
