EDITOR’S PICK FREE! Pop along to Blossom’s holiday concert
Soak up the spirit of the season by attending The Blossom Village Nursery’s annual holiday concert. Little ones can fashion their own ornaments for the tree and will get a chance to meet the man in red. There will also be an interactive story time, some pasta-making sessions and, of course, traditional tunes sung by Blossom’s budding stars.

Take a train ride at Souk Festive Market
Little lads and lasses will love the mini festive train ride offered at the Souk Festive Market, before getting stuck into tons more activities, including Christmas cookie baking sessions. That leaves mum time and space to have a mooch around the seasonal stalls for pressie purchases.

Wander around a winter wonderland market
Find festive bits and bobs at Dubai Baby & Children’s Market, which is going all white with a winter wonderland theme: there’ll be decorations, greetings cards, Christmas cakes, crafts and the usual pre-loved items stalls. Frosty the Snowman will arrive with giveaways for the little ones, with heaps more fun and festive activities, music and refreshments.

Kids’ Christmas party at Sheraton Jumeirah
With fun, fun and more fun on its festive menu, the Sheraton’s seasonal get-together will keep pint-sized party fans occupied all afternoon. Tykes can tire themselves out on the huge bouncy castle, before tucking into a mini-sized menu. The mesmerising Mr Magician will be spinning his magic tricks and a very unusual Santa will be making an appearance.

Decorate a gingerbread house at Carluccio’s
Culinary creatives can bling up their very own gingerbread house at Carluccio’s. Dhs80 buys all the seasonal sparkles – think shapes and icing – to make a masterpiece, and rewards the little darlings with a delicious hot chocolate. If you can’t make it today, there are two more sessions: one on December 18 at Marina Mall and one on December 21 at The Dubai Mall.

Gap Rock Star for a Day at The Dubai Mall
Limelight-loving little ones (aged two to 12) can become rock stars at Gap’s family event. Expect super-styling (think wigs, props and glitter) and a personal photo shoot, before performing at the Fashion Catwalk alongside professional entertainers. You’ll also get a goody bag.

Attend two seasonal soirées at The Montgomerie
Head down to The Address Montgomerie for an afternoon and evening of full-on festive fun. Make a date with Santa at the fun-filled family Carnival on the Lawn, before joining other families on Aquaviva Terrace for the ceremonial lighting of the tree. Under the twinkle of seasonal sparkle, tuck into street food and mulled wine.

We’re excited by the third instalment of epic fantasy The Chronicles of Narnia (released in 2D and 3D). Based on the much-loved novels by CS Lewis, this one sees Edmund and Lucy return to Narnia with their cousin Eustace. Meeting up with Prince Caspian, now King of Narnia, they take a trip across the sea aboard the royal ship, The Dawn Treader, encountering dragons, dwarves and a band of lost warriors before reaching the edge of the world.

It’s worth keeping the kids up late for tonight’s Festival of Fireworks at the Festival Marina promenade. This sparkling and spectacular evening promises stunning sights and sizzling sounds, which will keep minis mesmerised.
