Dance your way down to Safa park, pick yourself a good spot and make sure you pack a picnic, because more than 100 musicians from the Centre for Musical Arts (CMA) will be showcasing their many talents, including a saxophone quintet, experts from Dubai Drums and the Dubai Classical Guitar Orchestra.

FREE! Take a stroll around
Covent Garden Market We don’ mean the real one of course, but a very good alternative, especially if you live near JBR. A trendy flea market and arts and crafts fair, there are loads of cool jewellery stalls and nick-nacks to be found, and it’s the perfect place to find unusual gifts. Kids will love the boho atmosphere, and can cool off in the fountains if they get a bit hot. Afterwards, why not take a stroll across the sands, or visit one of the many street side cafés?

No we’re not. You can join Mickey Mouse and the gang at a free 30-minute show at Mall of the Emirates. Mickey’s Amazing Adventure runs daily until March 31 and features our little squeaky-voiced friend and all his cronies who go on a globetrotting voyage of discovery together. They visit far-away jungles, go under the sea, and investigate the African Savannah. Characters from The Jungle book, The Little Mermaid, Lilo and Stitch, and The Lion King will all be there for a fabulous on-stage sing-along.

On your bike in Mushrif Park
A great exercise activity for everyone, cycling blows away the cobwebs while you get back to nature in Dubai’s only combined park and nature reserve. You can also pack a picnic and enjoy Mushrif’s many wonderful facilities, including the public swimming pools, the well-maintained play areas and the miniature international village, which features a pagoda and a windmill, among others. Magic, acrobats and Flipper
Watch a breathtaking performance where dolphins and seals show off their acrobatic and comedic skills with aplomb. The Water Magic Show at Dubai Dolphinarium includes acrobats, who use a variety of amazing tricks both in and out of the water – and even some pyrotechnics.

Feeding time fish style!
Pop along to Dubai Mall’s Underwater Zoo and witness all sorts of gourmet shenanigans as the slippery residents enjoy their meals. The feeding time presentations provide the perfect opportunity to teach little ones a bit of marine biology in a fun and interesting way. Watch in amazement as the piranhas devour their dinner and the otters play with their food.

If you and your little one are in need of an adrenalin boost you’ve got to try the latest attraction for thrill-seekers down at Playnation, Mirdif City Centre – Sky Trail. Suspended around 15 metres above Magic Planet, daredevil visitors get to zip, clamber and swing their way around the obstacle course.
