Ah, Atlantis. From its jaw-dropping aquarium to its fabulous dolphins, its plethora of award-winning restaurants and of course, the most adrenalin-pumping waterpark in the UAE, it has got to be one of the most sought-after family destinations in Dubai. Oh how we envy those lucky people who get to stay there for an entire week. After all, there’s so much to do and explore, particularly if you have energetic kids in tow.

Well, calm your jets, because Time Out Kids has teamed up with Atlantis Kid’s Club to host an exclusive, VIP family event, where 10 lucky families will get to sample the best of what’s on offer in one exciting, action-packed day.

The timetable is full to the brim with fabulous energy-busting kids’ activities, and mum and dad get to tag along too! After registration at 9am, everyone will be whisked off to Ronda Locatelli, Atlantis’ tasty Italian restaurant, to get a head start on preparing their own lunch. Learning from the experts, they’ll soon be transformed into pizzaioli as they choose their own toppings and bake their pizza in Locatelli’s wood-burning oven.
After stuffing themselves silly, the group will be split into two. For families of younger kids (aged 3-7), it’s off to The Lost Chambers to find out about the marine life that inhabited the buried city of Atlantis – the kids’ club is known for its edutainment philosophy and will fill your child’s head full of fascinating facts about the ocean and marine wildlife. Then it’s time to cool down among the slides and drenching buckets at Splashers, the tots’ pool at Aquaventure before a game of ‘Sharks and Minnows’ a fun pool game where everyone will get tagged, dunked and, presumably, very wet.

Meanwhile, kids aged 8-12 and their parents, will experience The Lost Chambers where they’ll be wowed with an in-depth tour of the aquarium, discovering all sorts of funky facts such as how Atlantis filters 11 million
litres of sea water and feeds 65,000 marine animals. They’ll feed the rays at The Ziggurat before heading to the pool to try scuba diving in the capable hands of Atlantis Dive Centre’s PADI instructors. For a perfect, leisurely end to an action-packed day, everyone will get together for an ‘around the world in 80 minutes’ cruise.
