Make a furry friend at Little Explorers
This month’s theme at Little Explorers is ‘Nature Calls’. Don’t miss the centre’s informative workshops, which run every day, teaching kids about camping, forest animals and how to make their very own cute critter craft project. Each workshop lasts half an hour and is suitable for kids aged three to seven, and afterwards they’ll get to burn off some energy in the edutainment centre, with an hour’s session included in the workshop price..
Dhs100 per child. Sun-Thu 10am-10pm, Fri-Sat 10am-midnight. Until April 30. Mirdif City Centre, www.littleexplorersme.com (800 386).

Sing along to Glee tunes
Rock your socks off at A Tribute to Glee and Other Gleeful Tunes, at the First Group Theatre. Running until Sunday April 29, this live performance stars 10 of the original cast members from the West End show of the same name. Learn how to wield chopsticks at Royal China Dubai

From Dhs80 for express lunch menu; à la carte prices vary. Fri 11.30am-4.30pm. Ongoing. Royal China Dubai, DIFC, www.royalchinadubai.com (04 354 5543).

New Fashionable fun at Armani Junior
Ultra-trendy kids’ store Armani Junior has launched its new ‘Fun Saturdays’ concept, with lots of activities coming up to keep the little ones entertained during the weekend. Today at the brand’s Mercato Mall store, there’s colouring and face painting, while next week it’s all about balloon modelling. Watch this space for events happening through May at The Dubai Mall store, too.
Free. Sat 3pm-5pm. Ongoing. Armani Junior, Mercato Mall (04 342 0111).

Pack a picnic
Make the most of the remaining cool-ish weather and head to the grassy knolls of Al Badia Golf Club on Saturday lunchtime for the last picnic brunch of the season. The food is top notch and, if you don’t quite feel like getting grass stains on your trousers, you can still opt for a table rather than the fairly posh picnic-blanket options. The kids can then run about in the fresh air while your picnic arrives via waiter service.
Dhs225, Dhs115 for children under 12. Fri 12.30-4pm. Until April 28. Al Badia Golf Club, Dubai Festival City, www.albadiagolf.ae (04 701 1127).

See budding skaters at the Golden Cup
Dubai Figure-Skating Championship Open to the public, this competition will feature nearly 100 skaters from 15 countries testing their mettle in a number of skating events – including some of the UAE’s top young talent.

Ice-skating fun at The Dubai Mall
If the figure-skating contest has inspired you, hit the ice with your little one at Dubai Ice Rink’s mums-and-tots skating sessions – for the first session of the day, the pair of you will pay Dhs50. An instructor is also on hand to help you through the wobbly stages – perfect for tots aged two to seven.
