Manda’s Magic Summer Party at Ductac
Dubai’s favourite kids’ magician is back for a fun family show filled with tricks and magical shenanigans. Little ones will love the animal puppets who participate, while older children make great stage ‘helpers’. There’s also a goodie bag for every child. Make jewellery at the Damas store in KidZania
Creative little fashionistas can learn all about the jewellery and gem trade by taking part in activities at KidZania’s new Damas outlet, which opened earlier this month. There are also theatre workshops, art classes and the beauty school to try, while active kids can race on the Formula 1 track, fly an Emirates plane, join the fire brigade and lots more.

Watch a movie from the pool at Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club’s Cine-Splash session. Tonight’s line-up is Rugrats go Wild at 7pm, followed by Transformers 2 at 9pm. Food stations serving hot dogs, popcorn and the like are also on hand to feed hungry film buffs.

Do the Al Ain Zoo night safari

It’s too hot to visit the zoo at midday – and anyway, the animals tend to spend these hours sleeping. So why not take advantage of the late opening hours and do a night safari instead? You’ll get to see more animals and observe their twilight behaviour – they’re often a lot more active after dark.

Join Kids Read for World Environment Day
Get children aged six to 10 reading for pleasure and talking about books at the latest Kids Read event, which is celebrating World Environment Day. It offers arts and crafts, storytelling, workshops and activities for parents and children, all designed to inspire a love of reading. The theme is about positive environmental action, so they’ll learn some interesting facts too. Parents must register by emailing the address below.

Family Funday at Ping Pong
The dim-sum experts have teamed up with Hamleys to provide families with a weekly evening of board games diners. Games include classics such as Monopoly, Cluedo and Scrabble, as well as the more modern Pictureka. Those who enjoy more traditional board games can also get stuck into chess and dominoes – as well as the tasty dim sum.
