Don’t miss Cats at Ductac!
After months of rehearsals, Dubai’s most talented young stars will get their chance to shine onstage alongside professionals from the UK and US’s stage and screen. The show has been produced by Spotlight Academy – the same people who brought us Hairspray and West Side Story – so don’t miss out!

Thor: The legend of Valhalla premieres today
Head to your nearest cinema, stock up on popcorn and enjoy the latest superhero instalment. This CGI movie is perfect for kids of all ages, and tells the amusing story of a boy called Thor, who discovers he’s the god of thunder, and about all sorts of other gods who can’t resist a bit of trouble-making. Kids will love it!

Enjoy the Ice Age 4 combo deal
Grand Cinemas are offering a special combo rate for kids desperate to see the latest instalment of Ice Age: Continental Drift. Watch as our favourite four-legged foursome find themselves in Europe – and try to join a travelling circus.

Cool off with movies in the pool at Cine-Splash Watch a movie from the pool at Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club’s Cine-Splash session. Tonight’s line-up is Nanny McFee Returns at 7pm, followed by Monsters and Aliens at 9pm. Food stations serving hot dogs, popcorn and the like are also on hand to feed hungry film buffs.

Stake out some dinosaurs at Dino Live
Little palaeontologists will love this animatronic exhibition of lifelike dinosaurs. Hear the T-Rex roar and watch out for the swishing tail of the Diplodocus.

Head to the Generation Creation family brunch at Mazina
Enjoy one of the most family-friendly brunches in town before it stops for Ramadan. This week’s creative session, in the spirit of the season, is offering a class to teach kids and parents how to make fatayers – one of the traditional snacks served at Iftar. Prizes are awarded for the best attempts. Not to forget the brunch, of course, with international dishes, plus top kids’ entertainment!

Catch the Hello Kitty karaoke show while you still can
Head to Dubai Festival City for the ultimate in kitsch, pink fun at the Hello Kitty Karaoke Parade. Sing along with this Japanese cult cartoon character from 4.30pm until 9pm. Little girls will be delighted to see their kitty hero on stage and warbling to her heart’s content. Who says cats can’t sing?

Expand your horizons at Dubai Public Libraries
Children of all ages can get stuck into Arabic Calligraphy, cupcake making, origami, cultural competitions, and lessons on reading and writing stories at Dubai’s public libraries this summer. The activities are part of the ‘Expand your Horizon’ programme being run by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority at the Al Safa, Umm Suqeim and Al Rashidiya branches. Best of all, they are free to join too!

Head to Children’s City for their Summer
Events programme This large and airy indoor edutainment centre in Creek Park, is the perfect place to let the kids off the leash – and even more so right now because of the special activities programme on offer. Photography lessons, balloon benders, stilt walkers, story tellers, cartoon characters, arts and crafts activities, competitions and more, are all part of the fun.
