How long have you lived in Dubai Marina?
This is our fourth year in Dubai Marina. We had been travelling between two countries for so long that the moment we arrived at the Marina we knew we would love it. Everything we could ever need is here in our neighbourhood. It’s the perfect haven for us and there are so many options right at our fingertips, all within easy walking distance.

Why did you choose this neighbourhood?
We chose the marina because it fits all our expectations in terms of a family friendly lifestyle and environment. We are morning people, so you will often find us on the beach at JBR, usually before the rest of Dubai is awake! Or on the Marina walk heading for morning coffee and teaching our kids to ride bikes and scooters. There is a great mall nearby too, Marina Mall, which has everything we need on a daily basis. Whether we are planning to meet friends for coffee, do a little shopping, attend cultural events, indulge in some spa treatments, check out the intriguing buildings, walk on the beach or The Walk and cruise around the Marina, it has absolutely everything. We love watching the yachts pass by as they head out to the open seas and it’s a weekend tradition to visit our favourite restaurant, Wavebreaker, for a beach BBQ.

Have you found it easy to meet other mums here?
Absolutely. I have had the opportunity to meet some amazing and very talented mums right on my doorstep. Marina Mall was quite instrumental in this as it’s such a family friendly venue; there are always lots of mums there with their brood during the day. There are lots of cafes that do mummy meet ups too, so that was something that I got involved in when we first moved here - it’s a great way to meet other mums.

Do you find it easy to juggle family life and your job?
As I run my own business, I reap the benefits of being a stay at home mum along with being an entrepreneur. I designed and developed the Topszy, a feminine, stylish maternity, nursing top, and baby accessory rolled into one. It’s the first designed nursing cover to assist mothers with nursing positions and can be worn in 12 ways and 4 ways to nurse your baby, making it practical and versatile. Mums nowadays want to carry one product that can do so many things, and this is it. With the help of the online commerce, social media and support of my husband, I managed to find a great balance in my life, but it wasn’t easy!

What family friendly facilities are nearby?
There are new play areas under the bridges linking the Marina to JBR, which helps bring the community together and Marina Mall, which I mentioned previously, has unlimited experiences for families; all year round festivals and activities like story telling under the stars and live theatre. Outdoor activities are popular too; bike hire, the merry go round, ice skating, the marina walk and RTA ferry services offer fun family outings. Unlimited cuisine cafes and restaurants line the marina front with nightlife offering a fun evening for mums and dads too.

Are you planning to stay put in Dubai Marina?
Yes it’s perfect for us.

Why do you think Dubai Marina is good for families?
Because it has so much to offer for families. There are so many facilities right on our doorstep, it’s safe, central and convenient for getting around on foot. There are family meet ups in Marina Mall, it’s close to some great hotels, such as The Address which has a brilliant family brunch every Saturday and when we have family and friends come to visit, there is so much for them to do. They never get bored!

Their favourite...

Mother- child Activity
Swimming is a fun activity we love doing together. We either go to JBR beach or hang around the pool in our complex.

Family hang outs
We like the beach club in JBR as it is a relaxed environment to meet other mums and their families and it has the best BBQ in town with a great play area for kids.

Kids Play Areas
We like play dates at the beach as the kids love making sand castles and it’s an easy location to walk to and Favourite Things in Marina Mall is great for baby and toddler classes.
