Ripe Food & Craft Market
Start your weekend on a healthy note and pick up some fresh organic fruit and vegetables for your family at the Ripe Food & Craft Market. One of our favourite things to do at a weekend is stroll around this market, which runs every Friday at Zabeel Park. Parents and kids can enjoy a morning of shopping with a variety of pop-up stalls selling a range of items from crafters, designers and artisans. Activities and live musicians will also be on hand to help entertain little ones.
Free, Fridays, Zabeel Park, 9am-5pm, www.ripeme.com.

Kids' Candy nights out
Stuck for a babysitter this weekend? Take your young adventurers out with you and let the entertainers at the Kids Club, Atlantis The Palm take charge with their exciting new nights out for little people. Meanwhile, you and your other half can sneak off and enjoy one of the many restaurants the hotel has to experience for a dining adventure of your own.
Candy Olympics, Thursdays 6.30pm-10.30pm and Pirates on the Palm, Fridays 6.30pm-10.30pm. Dhs200 per child for the whole evening or Dhs75 per child, per hour. kidsclub@atlantisthepalm.com (04 426 138704 426 1387).

New arrival
Jump in the car and head to see the new baby Oryx at the Arabian Nights Village. The Oryx named Saaed, meaning happy in Arabic, has become the newest resident to arrive at the popular wildlife resort in the Al Khatim desert. Arabian Nights Village keeps the herd of Arabian Oryx – a species saved from extinction – to enable guests to get up-close to the beautiful desert antelopes.

Kids HQ birthday parties
Any birthday celebrations in your house this month or next? One of Dubai’s biggest activity centres is offering a great discount for parties booked from March 1 until April 30, including access to the play area, party games, dance competitions and a limbo rope. The promotional price of Dhs85 per child also includes a meal, goody bags and a fully decorated private room with the option of a carnival theme. Sounds super fun to us.
