Trampoline fitness for kids in Dubai

A new fitness craze has been sweeping across Dubai

Kids have been bouncing on beds since the invention of the bed spring – and always looking for something bigger and better. George Niesen, a three-time NCAA gymnastic champion from the University of Iowa, took this concept further and went on to develop the trampoline in the 1930s – And a whole new era was born.

Now, some 80 years later, the countless number of trampoline parks across the globe, as well as the myriad of backyards currently boasting their own humble jumping system (they even show up on Google Earth!), shows the popularity of bouncing fun. Trampolining has fast become a favourite activity for toddlers and teens (even Mum and Dad join in, sometimes).

So, what is it about the humble trampoline that appeals? “Trampolining is often promoted as one of the best and most effective exercises you can do,” says BOUNCE marketing manager Wajdan Gul.

“In fact, Nasa believes that rebound exercise is the most efficient form of exercise yet devised by man.”
The benefits are numerous, with advocates saying it improves muscle tone and co-ordination, plus it helps to combat anxiety and stress by increasing the amount of endorphins released by the brain. And it’s not just places such as BOUNCE or Flip Out Dubai that have jumped on the bandwagon (we’re not sorry about the pun). More affordable options for your very own trampoline are also available from big-name brands, so families can enjoy the benefits of having one in their back garden. Sarah Jones, founder of Mini Exchange, the “Online Marketplace for Everything Mums & Kids,” says: “An hour on the trampoline is a wonderful way for families to get active together and unplug from their daily working life.” High jumps never sounded so sweet.
