Dish of the Month: Burger & Lobster

Burger & Lobster hasn’t got its claws out for the kids

As restaurants go, Burger & Lobster isn’t a tricky concept. In fact, it’s a very simple one, as the name suggests.

And simple is good, when it comes to taking the kids out to eat. The children’s menu is pretty straightforward, but when there’s the word burger in the restaurant’s name we can’t see the little ones venturing much further than that anyway.

Concentrating on just two ingredients also ensures what you’re getting is a high-standard offering, with the burgers made with good-quality meat, fresh lettuce and tomato, tangy cheese and a delightfully sweet brioche bun, all for Dhs45.

Contrary to what you might expect, there’s no lobster on the kids’ menu (though we’re sure you could order some) so it’s not one to rule out if you have fussy eaters.

Also among the junior offerings are a toasted cheese sandwich and chips (because who doesn’t love that, whatever age?) and a Nutella and banana version (ditto), both for just Dhs15. Can’t say fairer than that for a DIFC hot spot.

However, being Dubai, there’s a lot of scope when it comes to the restaurant’s eponymous ingredients, which is good news for parents.

We’ve already seen a variety of burgers (with toppings ranging from the utterly indulgent foie gras to the playfully named Hot Mama with lashings of spicy sauce), as well as three types of lobster roll.

But now, to spice things up even further, the good folk over at B&L Dubai have introduced a curry. Fret not, it isn’t totally off piste, and an addition of a lobster tikka seems a very good one. The dish “boasts a combination of feisty and fiery flavours”, so says the team.

Burger, lobster and curry it is. That’s the whole crew fed.
