Have you, like us, ever woken up of a weekend morning and wondered what happened to your social life? Let’s face it, the answer to that is probably yes. And that seems to be the inspiration behind Party Monsters, the UAE’s first family-friendly rave, which is very much back with a bang to bring in 2018.

On Saturday January 13, the brilliant family rave will once again take over the Backyard at Dubai’s Steigenberger Hotel Business Bay, for an alternative party for ravers of all ages, that’ll feature music from the house, drum ’n’ bass, reggae, dub and SKA genres. In other words, dig out those old dancing shoes, because they are about to get a long-overdue workout – only, this time, you can take the kids along, too.

Themed Superheroes, this third edition of the acclaimed day out promises an afternoon packed with fun. With loads of great activities for kids, as well as plenty of food options to keep them going, the event will feature a baby sensory dance floor with plenty of bubbles, and a giant parachute that kids will love. They can also take a little break from raving at the Splash n Bounce soft play chillout zone, which comes loaded with a ball pool, slides and bouncy castle, or get their creative juices flowing at The BEEhive’s Arts and Crafts area. If that wasn’t enough, The Toy Store’s talented face-painters will be on hand to turn kids into their favourite superhero characters. The talented folks from Stu Williamson Photography will capture all the fun on the ground, while parents and kids will also be invited to get involved in the fancy dress theme and bring their A-game on the dance floor to win some awesome prizes.

From a music point of view, headlining this special edition of reggae, dub and SKA takeover is Dubijad, AKA the Middle Eastern Dubtator, renowned for bringing reggae to the masses. Sharing the decks will be Mach4, founder of GlobalFunk. Party Monsters resident, Woodle, will also play some classic drum ’n’ bass. And all those tunes will be spun at sound levels that are 100 percent safe for kids. See you there?
