Slowly turning into Dubai’s new hotspot, La Mer is attracting new eateries, perfect for family weekends. Here are three to try:

Big Smoke Burger
With branches in Box Park and at Last Exit, the Canadian burger joint is now bringing its juicy patties to La Mer.

It uses AAA Angus beef in its signature burgers, which include the Crazy Burger, Big Smoke Burger, and Urban Cowboy.

If you’re more on the healthy side, you can even substitute the buns for lettuce wrap or ask for wholewheat buns!

It also cooks up traditional poutine and hand-spun milkshakes.

Kaftan
After four years in Jumeirah, the Turkish restaurant has opened its second branch in La Mer, with plenty of Turkish delicacies on offer.

The portions are massive and the menu features classic favourites including the Anatolian breakfast and street-style kebabs.

They also have a kids’ menu with mini doners and more traditional options like burger and chips.
La Mer South, Jumeirah 1, Dubai. (04 4489505).

The Chickery
Another chicken eatery! We’re not complaining. The rotisserie has chosen La Mer for its first foray into the UAE market.

With a menu crafted by world renowned chef, The Food Network’s Chef David Adjey, you can expect really, really good chicken.

Dishes on offer include rotisserie chicken, buttermilk chicken fingers, and chicken feathers –thinly sliced slabs of chicken breast fried and covered in Parmesan breadcrumbs.

There’s also a variety of unique sandwiches, as well as some chef-inspired salads and in-house crafted gourmet sides and dipping sauces.

Now we know where we’ll be eating this weekend!
