Wandering aimlessly through Bastakia, passing archway after archway, I could not find XVA until a friendly cement worker navigated me through a quiet alleyway. Tucked away behind the other buildings, the clandestine location was most alluring. A hospitable young man greeted me at the door and I was ushered into an old-world courtyard, thankfully shaded by a slew of peaceful trees and a dreamy white canopy. Yet it was too hot for one couple, ensconced in the air conditioned sanctuary off to the side, eating amid striped couches and paintings
